Are you a farmer or interested in agriculture, breeding methods, new technology, consumers? Then join us and learn about climate-resilient crops and how consumers are perceiving them!
Food & Bio Cluster Denmark is a partner in the EU-funded B-Trust Project in which we offer you a series of masterclasses, In this masterclass we take a deep dive into climate-resilient crops and how consumers are perceiving new technology and breeding methods.
As climate change intensifies and food demands rise, developing climate-resilient crops quickly is crucial. Traditional breeding methods are slow, but New Genomic Techniques (NGTs), including methods like, CRISPR offer a faster solution. This approach could revolutionize agriculture, making it more resilient to climate challenges! 🌱
Consumer perception of gene editing is generally positive, especially compared to older GMO methods. Recent studies show optimism about its role in food security and sustainability, despite some media fluctuations in sentiment.

About B-Trust
"The effective application of biotechnology in agri-food and biobased sectors – think of microbial protein, cultivated meat, production of milk components using micro-organisms, biodegradable plastics, …- plays a crucial role in building a sustainable European future. B-Trust wants to contribute to the valorisation and implementation of these groundbreaking technologies by focusing on building consumer trust and broader stakeholder acceptance. Tackling trust related hurdles is as critical as addressing technological, economic and regulatory challenges, in view of delivering impact at scale with these biotech solutions." – Flanders’ FOOD, Project Coordinator
