Join the Masterclass and learn about Cell Factories and how they can be a gamechanger and learn about the consumer perceptions

Biotechnology has long contributed to the way we create food, but now scientific advancements are unlocking more innovative ingredients and products that promise a greener, tastier tomorrow. From ambitious startups to global giants, companies are embracing its potential. However, a significant challenge remains gaining consumer trust as we are in transition to sustainable alternatives to traditional foods.

Engaging with consumers, addressing their concerns, and providing transparent information will be essential for integrating these technologies into the mainstream food market. As the industry evolves, fostering a dialogue between producers and consumers can help ensure that the benefits are recognized and embraced.

Take, for example, cell factories - microorganisms that can produce specialty food ingredients through fermentation. These advancements have the potential to reshape food production by significantly reducing land use, water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. This is especially critical as the world faces the pressing challenges of climate change and resource scarcity.

Who Should Attend?

If you’re a (key) player in shaping the future of biotechnology, this masterclass series is for you! Whether you’re from the bio-based or agri-food sectors, an investor, a biotech researcher or expert, a public authority, or a policymaker, this session will provide you with the critical insights you need to navigate the complexities of trust and social acceptance.

About the B-Trust Project:

As a partner in the EU project we invite you to join a series of 8 exclusive masterclasses designed to explore the vital role of consumer perceptions in shaping the future of biotechnologies within the agri-food and biobased sectors. These masterclasses are your gateway to cutting-edge insights on how to successfully engage with consumers, address their concerns, and build trust in sustainable innovations that can transform Europe's future.

"The effective application of biotechnology in agri-food and biobased sectors – think of microbial protein, cultivated meat, production of milk components using micro-organisms, biodegradable plastics, …-  plays a crucial role in building a sustainable European future. B-Trust wants to contribute to the valorisation and implementation of these groundbreaking technologies by focusing on building consumer trust and broader stakeholder acceptance. Tackling trust related hurdles is as critical as addressing technological, economic and regulatory challenges, in view of delivering impact at scale with these biotech solutions." stated by the project coordinator, Flanders Food. Read more here.
