Hear about how Denmark is applying innovation to divert food waste into resources!

Denmark is a world leader in the advanced management of food waste, animal manure and other organic waste streams. Due to national regulation, all cities in the country must have a program as of 2023 to collect and divert food waste to a higher and better use. This session will provide insight and information on how Danish innovation is being applied to help reach this goal and how co-digestion of different organic feedstocks has allowed biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) to thrive. Due to this, RNG currently makes up more than 20% of the country's gas grid - the largest % in the world. Danish technology is also on display at the recently opened Trenton Biogas facility in New Jersey. The session will also provide an overview of the first facility of its kind in the state.
